Diary of a Shed - 20 June 2004 < Back    Next >    HOME
I was determined not to let the weather beat me today, so I had a plan of action: I would do all the cutting at once, then all the fitting into place at once. That way, even if it rained, chances were that I would still not have to take the mitre saw in and out quite so often. It worked quite well, and I cut 4 rafters for the back section of the shed roof and quickly fitted them into place - I've got this down to an art now, and it didn't take me long at all.

Inbetween some light rain and the 5pm deadline (Grand Prix - thou shalt not miss!) I also managed to add the overhang to the back of the roof as well, and considering that wasn't part of today's plan I was quite pleased with that. All in all a much better day than yesterday!

The shed roof now has just one small section missing, plus the fascia which needs to go all around the edge. The remaining section is probably the trickiest because it has a long diagonal (valley), an overhanging gable end, and it runs into the front section of the shed which has fascia at a different angle to the gable end! Much scratching of head is anticipated!
