BS proof of God's existenceArgument From Evil Atheist Board | 1. | Look at this board. People are so cynical, sarcastic, abusive, hateful, etc. | | 2. | On the other hand, Christian boards are always gentle, nice, supportive, considerate, etc. | | 3. | I'll just ignore all the censorship rules in Christian boards, and also my own attitude. | | 4. | Therefore, God exists. |
Consider thisMy philosophy, in essense, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute. Ayn Rand

Spoken Word
Stories, poems and speeches written by others, read by me. Something a little different from the Gisburne norm.

I've recorded stories about cats and other macabre tales for YouTube, and perhaps they inspired me to write this poem. The tongue-in-cheek title came first, and everything else seemed to follow... The Kittens of Doom by Nick Gisburne
In the mistletoe wood, where the cursed oak stood In the shadows of night was a tomb And inside it there lay, for a year and a day The unspeakable kittens of doom
These were no simple cats; for their food they ate bats Which they swallowed at midnight and noon They would snare them with strings, rip their leathery wings Before eating their brains with a spoon
But then such was their skill they left no bats to kill No sweet morsels in traps did they find So by night and by day to find victims to slay They must leave their old tomb far behind
Then the kittens did roam, keen to find a new home And some fresh tasty brains for their lunch To the cities they strayed and on mouse meat they preyed For their skulls had the same pleasing crunch
And the people did grin and with love took them in For though evil, their faces were sweet In the warmth of the house the occasional mouse Was their tastiest, bloodiest treat
Now the mice are all dead but the cats must be fed And their hunger for brains is still great And together they plan for they know where they can Find delicious fresh blood if they wait
For the newly born child how they purred and they smiled At the sight of that soft little head But when night gathers in, that smile turns to a grin For by sunrise the child will be dead
We now live among cats who no longer eat bats And who pace into room after room Tuck all babies in tight, kiss them one last goodnight And beware of your kittens of doom

A Baby Tramp - Ambrose Bierce Suffer the little children. Hold on, that's a Bible quote. Okay, er... if it's raining always take a coat and umbrella. You know it makes sense.

The Gift of the Magi - O Henry One of my favourite stories. A Christmas gift from me to you. Just don't think I'm getting all religious on you; this is not really a religious story at all.

Shot At Dawn - Alan Booth In the First World War little, if anything, was known about "shell shock" and a number of British and other soldiers were shot at dawn for desertion.

The Phantom Coach - Amelia B Edwards A spine-chilling Victorian ghost story. Lost and cold, a man just wants to return home to his wife, but his carriage is far from what he expected...
