Diary of a Shed - 18 October 2004 < Back    Next >    HOME
More shingling and more great progress. I managed to complete the whole of the left-hand side of the roof, except for the ridge shingles which go on top. I must remember to do them before I move the scaffolding to the other side of the shed, otherwise there will be no way to get up there.

One important thing to tell you: Gisburne's Patented Super-reach Nailer Tool has another use! It can now be used to lift the end of the chalk line, and hook it over the nail (see yesterday) so that I don't have to use the roof ladder. Top tackle, my stick - I'm glad I saved it!

There's not a lot more I can say, other than that I'm very pleased with the results, and it's not complicated, just a lot of work!

Today I decided to add the shingles in a slightly different way. Instead of doing a whole row, I decided to work up the side and spread the shingles across.
