They said it couldn't happen but here it is. After a slight delay, during which I aged by one year on the 23rd, the roof is totally covered and it's looking like a, er, shed with a roof now! As always, the big bits were easy and the little ones more difficult. I spent hours cutting a little piece of wood to shape because the top of one of the rafters was below where it should have meet the roof board, and yet the boards themselves went up with little or no problems. You'll see that there are still some overhanging bits, but the whole roof needs to be trimmed properly so that's a job for another day. Rain is forecast for tomorrow so that's the big test and I just say bring it on! ...but of course it will leak because there are gaps between the boards and, oh yes, no windows or doors in yet!
